Is gold, surgical steel, medical plastic, titanium, or stainless steel the best to use for piercing our ears?
I’m thinking of getting my earlobe pierced and there are lots of different tpes or earrings like all the ones I’ve named, but I don’t know which is best. I’m guessing it’s gold, surgical steel or medical plastic but I’m not sure… PLEASE HELP!!!
Definitely high-grade surgical steel to start. It’s non-porous so your fresh piercing won’t “stick” to it. Also, unlike gold and silver it doesn’t cause allergic reactions.
Niobium and titanium would be your other choice as they can also be safely autoclaved and if of high-quality rarely cause allergic reactions either. However, titanium will most likely be more expensive and if choosing niobium you will have a lot fewer choices as it’s more difficult to produce.
